‘Jersey’ City? Uh, ‘Shore.’ MTV show spinoff can shoot there after Hoboken rebuff
Hoboken had feared the show would be bad for city’s reputation
Hoboken’s loss is Jersey City’s gain. After being denied by Hoboken, MTV has gotten permission to shoot a “Jersey Shore” spin-off in nearby Jersey City. “My view is the more people that see anything about Jersey City and see what we have in Jersey, the better it is for Jersey City,” Mayor Jerramiah Healy told WNYW/Ch. 5’s John Huddy.

What exactly is a SOUP SWAP? You bring FOUR single-quart containers of your homemade frozen soup. (Plus your donation to the food pantry.) We will then draw numbers and take turns picking out different soup. You will leave with FOUR 1 quart containers of a wonderful mix of homemade soups. Bring whatever soup you cook best. This can include chili, stews, chowders, and gumbos. Can’t be here? You can always assign a proxy to do your soup swapping for you!

By 1030 pm last night Alexander Waight was home recording a postmortem for yesterdays Occupy New Jersey protest in Jersey City. Good evening brothers and sisters he began speaking into his camera. Goldman Protesters Are Almost Outnumbered by Security Guards in New Jersey
Protesters assembling today outside a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS) building in New Jersey were met by almost as many security guards and police officers as “Occupy Wall Street” demonstrators sought to single out the bank.
About 50 people gathered at a Goldman Sachs building surrounded by metal barricades in Jersey City, where 30 to 40 officers and guards were waiting. The investment bank’s employees watched from windows as the crowd chanted “We are the 99 percent” before breaking into discussion groups.
